RESEARCH: ATM-market growth soars in Central, Eastern Europe
Following ATM growth of 27 percent in 2005, Central and Eastern Europe grew another 24 percent in 2006.

LONDON - Retail Banking Research Ltd. has published "ATMs and Cash Dispensers Central and Eastern Europe 2007," a comprehensive analysis of ATMs in the CEE region.
This year, RBR included two new countries, Belarus and Kazakhstan, in its report.
Key findings from the new study, which now covers 15 countries, include:
- CEE approaches 90,000 ATMs
- Deployers in Russia and Ukraine installed the most new ATMs in 2006
- 59% of CEE ATMs are located at off-premises locations
- Average cash withdrawals increased to €90
- NCR remains largest ATM manufacturer in CEE
- Windows XP replaces NT as most common ATM operating system
- Cash replenishment is outsourced for just more than a quarter of CEE ATMs
