Tio to deploy hybrid ATM-kiosk in '07

Digital Transactions: The concept of an ATM that also serves as a kiosk for bill payment and other financial services may be getting closer to reality. Tio Networks Inc., a Burnaby, B.C.-based operator of bill-payment kiosks that serve the unbanked and underbanked, says it will begin deploying hybrid ATM-kiosk machines in 2007.Tio would not say where the first machines are expected to be placed.
The machines are being developed by Tranax Technologies Inc. Tio had expected to begin operating approximately 40 of the hybrid devices this spring with Cardtronics LP. That deployment was delayed.
