Using its CINEO systems, Wincor Nixdorf has helped Volksbank Leipzig greatly reduce ATM cash management costs at its Consulting Center in Taucha, according to a recent press release. CINEO is expected to trim about 50 percent from the bank’s cash management costs.
Volksbank Leipzig began the process with a scrutiny of the cash cycle at its Taucha Consulting Center, including the replenishment and emptying of ATM cash points by the cash-in-transit operator. At the time, this task was performed manually by employees with the aid of an automated teller safe. Slightly more cash was deposited than was dispensed. Cash was replenished and removed twice weekly by a CiT operator.
Detailed analysis of cash flows at the branch resulted in a decision to relocate 90 percent of cash handling to a CINEO cash recycling system and dispenser. Should deposits exceed withdrawals, the intelligent cash cassettes in the cash recycling system will replenish the ATM, cutting the number of CiT operator visits by as much as 50 percent. This reduction is expected to generate a return on investment in the new technology within 19 months.
"Wincor Nixdorf clearly demonstrated the benefits of the CINEO technology in the Cash Cycle Management Consulting project. We look forward to leveraging the savings potential once the new systems have been installed in the 2nd quarter of 2012," said Falk Hähle, head of corporate service at Volksbank Leipzig.
