Wincor Nixdorf takes over IT, brings cash-recycling to Berlin-based bank

November 13, 2007

PADERBORN, Germany - Wincor Nixdorf International has received an order from Landesbank Berlin AG to install 300 ProCash 4000 cash recycling systems. Wincor said the bank will optimize its cash processing with these systems and allow customers can deposit and withdraw easily from one self-service system. The rollout should be finished by mid of 2009. Wincor Nixdorf is also taking over the service for all the bank's cash recycling systems.

The cash recycling system works like this:

When cash is deposited, the system subjects it to a forgery check. Cash that has passed this check can then be made available for withdrawals. The planned results are significant reductions in cash management costs, since expensive, time-consuming replenishment processes for automated systems can be kept to a minimum.

The on-site system maintenance will be provided by Wincor Nixdorf. For this reason Berlin region has its own service unit.
