TIO Networks, Time Warner launch bill-pay service

BURNABY, British Columbia - Time Warner Cable of Dayton, Ohio, and TIO Networks Corp. have announced plans to launch a service that allows Time Warner Cable customers to pay their bills at 26 convenience stores in Dayton.
With TIO's self-service solution, consumers can access accounts and view balances for select billers. Payments are made by feeding cash directly into the TIO terminal's note acceptor. Consumers complete transactions by printing or e-mailing their receipts.
TIO uses an Internet link to post payments andapplications are available in English and Spanish.
"TIO already has an established base of customers in Dayton who frequently pay their bills and will recognize the benefit and convenience of Time Warner's new bill-payment options," said Hamed Shahbazi, TIO's chairman and chief executive.
The Time Warner service is expected to deploy this winter. Users will be charged $3 per transaction.
