Link updates on free ATM initiative

Finextra:The United Kingdom's Link Interchange Network Ltd., which connects the U.K.'s ATMs, says its financial-inclusion program, launched in 2007, has secured the placement of more than 400 free-to-use cash machines throughout low-income communities in the U.K. More than150 additional sites also have been identified for ATM placement, taking the total number of people who will have access to free ATM use to more than 1 million, Link says."Each of Link's 47 member banks, building societies and independent operators is contributing to this program," said Edwin Latter, Link's ATM scheme director.
