India-based bank proposes free inter-bank ATM services
December 25, 2007
Indian Express:The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has proposed that banks offer free ATM services, which would take effect on April 1, 2009. Currently, banks do not charge customers for the use of the bank's own ATMs, but fees are charged when the customer uses an ATM deployed by a competitor. RBI's proposal — if followed — would eliminate those fees.
