Hawaiian credit union implements Diebold tech

December 4, 2006

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - CU Hawaii Federal Credit Union's new Keaau branch features Diebold Inc.'s RemoteTeller System, a system that allows the branch to serve lobby-teller stations, drive-thru lanes and RTS stations with three tellers instead of 10.

According to a news release, the system, designed by Diebold and CU Hawaii, includes Diebold's PassVault, a self-service safety-deposit-box vault that requires biometric access.

CU Hawaii's main branch has used both RTS and traditional tellers since 2002.

"This was an exciting project for Diebold," said Dave Bucci, senior vice president of Diebold's Customer Solutions Group. "It was really an exercise in both technology and design solutions. The credit union is now well positioned with new technology to expand into a new market. This is truly a branch of the future."
