First Data signs management deal for 7-Eleven ATMs in Australia

SYDNEY, Australia - First Data Corp. announced in a news release that it has extended its Australian alliance for merchant services with BankWest, which is part of HBOS Australia. First Data will provide end-to-end management for 350 BankWest-branded ATMs in 7-Eleven stores.

Services include the provision of ATM hardware, transaction switching and processing, ongoing support and maintenance, and regular cash replenishment.

"This extension of our alliance with BankWest is a key milestone in our local and global relationship with HBOS Australia and its parent company, HBOS plc.," said Greg Nash, managing director of First Data International in Australia, New Zealand and South Asia.

The ATMs will have upgraded technology, including touchscreens and barcode readers. Secure video cameras also will be installed.
