Fingerprints may replace signatures, PINs

CNNMoney.com: SmartMetric Inc. says its new biometric card will make signing a credit card or inputting a PIN while using an ATM/debit card a thing of the past. With identity theft becoming the largest crime in the United States, a new and safer way of using credit and debit cards has become a quest for banks around the world. After more than eight years of research and development, SmartMetric has announced that it now can replace signatures and PINs with a person's fingerprint, thereby providing a 100-percent guarantee that the person making the transaction is the card's owner.
