Euronet bids for Moneygram, preps for fight

Digital Transactions: Euronet Worldwide Inc., which has 67,000 money-transfer agent locations in more than 100 countries has made a $1.65 billion stock offer to buy MoneyGram International Inc., which has 138,000 agents in more than 170 countries. But Moneygram is trying to negotiate and proposed that the two companies explore the possibility of combining their efforts. Euronet has since turned down that offer and says it is only interested in buying the company.
