Diebold releases entry-level ATM
June 13, 2007
NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Diebold Inc. has announced plans to introduce an entry-level ATM called CashSpot.
CashSpot is an entry-level alternative to Diebold's Opteva family, which includes the Opteva 500 and Opteva 520. It has an embedded processor, which Diebold says will help FIs maximize uptime and minimize service needs, especially in remote locations.
"Our customers struggle to control costs while offering their customers the best service possible," said Dave Bucci, Diebold's senior vice president of customer business solutions. "The CashSpot delivers on both counts. It's a cost-effective solution to a challenging business issue."
The CashSpot ATM also is expected to include a customer help-desk service, which, in addition to providing over-the-phone diagnostic services, will provide training and technical support for deployers. Help-desk personnel will order and ship parts directly, guide installation and assure ATMs operate properly.
"The CashSpot ATM will allow our customers increased flexibility to serve areas where a full-feature cash dispenser is not practical, either for space or business-volume reasons," said Chuck Ducey, Diebold's senior vice president of global development and services "The added help desk utility provides our customers additional assurance that we stand ready to serve them, regardless of the location of their CashSpot ATM."
