ATM regs could cut consumer options

WebWire: Canada's RBC Royal Bank says attempts to increase ATM regulation could reduce ATM services and increase costs for Canadians. Speaking before the House of Commons Committee on Finance, James Westlake, group head of Canadian Banking for RBC, said the country's ATM system is competitive because it is based on user pricing.
"Without this competitive pricing flexibility, it is unlikely that we would be able to continue to maintain a network of 4,000-plus ATMs," he said.
