Allpoint preps for ATM growth in U.K.

April 8, 2007

BETHESDA, Md. - Surcharge-free ATM network Allpoint says it will expand into the United Kingdom with 1,400 ATMs by mid-summer.

According to a news release, presence in the U.K. is being provided by Bank Machine Ltd., which, like Allpoint, is a subsidiary of Cardtronics LP.

Rollout of the Allpoint brand on Bank Machine ATMs began early this year and is expected to be complete by mid-summer.  Access to Allpoint cardholders will begin in August 2007.

Allpoint also expects to add the U.K. ATMs to its ATM locator once final branding is complete.

"We are very excited to expand into the U.K. and broaden our members' surcharge-free ATM access," said Ben Psillas, Allpoint's president. "Many of our members have been asking for international coverage and now we are proud to offer it."

Allpoint's network includes more 32,000 surcharge-free ATMs. Allpoint complements any card issuer's participation in other surcharge-free networks as well as their own ATM and branch deployments.
