BANGKOLAM, Bangkok - Wireless solutions provider PP Ontime Co. Ltd. has partnered with Transfer Data Test, a wireless-technologies provider from Germany, to provide wireless solutions for banks in Thailand.
According to a news release, the company is working to connect legacy SNA/SDLC, X.25 and IP-based ATMs over GPRS/EDGE/CDMA networks using TDT's R Series Routers. The routers enable banks to reduce monthly overhead and reap the benefits of flexible and fast ATM rollouts. PP Ontime also offers complete outsourcing, enterprise networking, telecommunications and POS solutions.
PP Ontime's solution involves connecting legacy or IP-based ATMs to a bank's central network using TDT's R52 [GPRS] or R52E [EDGE] routers, which have dual SIM slots for redundancy purposes.
To date, PP Ontime has deployed more than 1,000 TDT routers in six months across Thailand. The company says it plans to deploy more by the end of 2007. And, sometime in 2007, PP Ontime plans to launch its wireless solution in major countries within the Indo-China region - part of its commitment to TDT to expand the project into Southeast Asia.
