WEX DriverDash integrates mobile payments

WEX Driver Dash has expanded its services to around 4,000 CITGO locations, offering commercial fleet drivers mobile payments options for fuel. With the app, they can pay without swiping a card or entering the store to pay in cash, according to a report by Fleet Equipment Mag.

With this addition, DriveDash is now available at nearly 45,000 fueling locations across the US. The app goes through WEX's closed-loop payment network, while also offering transaction data and controls to fleet managers.

WEX uses encrypted transactions alongside facial or fingerprint recognition. It can also capture odometer readers and send back electronic receipts for fleet tracking.

"Expanding DriverDash to the CITGO network is about meeting drivers where they are with a faster, safer way to fuel," Cecile Zinder, vice president of product management at WEX, said in the report. "By pairing secure mobile payments with real-time, high-quality data, we're helping fleets simplify fueling for drivers while giving managers stronger controls across their operations."
