'Virtual Technician' helps ATM deployers cut costs for servicing ATMs

November 23, 2008

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Diamond Virtual Technician is ACE Machine's new, patent-pending product line and is part of the company's "Diamond Kiosks and Surrounds" product line, which also brought the fully automated roll-up surround to the market.

According to a news release, the Diamond Virtual Technician comes as an option with Diamond Kiosks and Surround products. The Technician is touted for its ability to help the ATM kiosk pay for itself within a short period of time.

The Diamond Virtual Technician automates the process of switching the ATM enclosure's air conditioner off and turning the heater on. This automated process can be conducted by the technician as many times as is required during any given season; It's all based on climate changes.  Add-on devices that can automatically shut equipment down should the temperature or humidity inside the kiosk reach a detrimental level also can be added.

Jeff Duggin, a sales engineer for ACE Machine says the Diamond Virtual Technician "reduces utility costs, cuts first- and second-line maintenance calls, eliminates human error as well as man hours, eliminates equipment damage and failure, extends the life of ATMs, camera systems and alarms and ensures revenues and consumer confidence."

Varying types of ATM equipment and costs of service calls, as well as climate, payroll and man hours, can impact how much cost savings an individual deployer may experience. Duggin says savings could range from $1,000 to more than $5,000 per year, per location.
