TNS Smart Network installs 12,000th ATM

July 15, 2008

TORONTO — TNS Smart Network Inc., Canada's largest white-label-ATM processor, announced that it now has more than 12,000 ATMs on its network.

According to a news release, since 1996, TNS has been working with ISOs/IADs across Canada to help them grow and manage their own ATM portfolios. TNS has been providing ISOs access to off-site terminal information through its WEBMON's real-time, Web-based interface.

"Even though all indicators are reporting an economic downturn in Canada, it surprises me that TNS has never seen ATM-transaction volume so high," said Mischa Weisz, president and chief executive of TNS. "It just goes to show you that people still require convenient access to their cash."

The majority of growth has come from new deployments in various Canadian retail outlets. Locations demonstrating the greatest increase in the number of terminals installed are casinos, hotels, and restaurants, respectively.
