September 16, 2009
Burnaby, British Columbia-based TIO Networks Corp. is now offering its self-service bill-payment services on 100 of Nexxo Financial Corp.'s kiosks, also known as "Cajeros." Nexxo is a leader in self-serve remittance for the U.S. Hispanic market.
According to a news release issued by TIO, the deal follows Nexxo's December 2008 announcement to deploy self-service automated money transfer services on TIO's network of multifunctional ATM/kiosks at retail stores in Phoenix, Tucson, Ariz., Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Texas, and El Paso, Texas.
TIO says its bill-payment services offer a secure way for the underbanked marketplace to to pay bills with cash.
David Alvarez, chief executive of Nexxo Financial, says the new deal marks an exciting development in the evolution of Nexxo:
Customers can now benefit even more from being a Nexxo Financial customer with the convenience and ease of paying their bills, in addition to conducting money wire transactions.
The Cajeros are small, ATM-like terminals that allow users, with a touchscreen interface, to complete money-transfer transactions by following prompts and submitting the cash they want to send.
