TestLink releases track, trace service for ATM cassettes

December 5, 2007

POOLE, England — TestLink Services Ltd. has added a track-and-trace service to its ATM offerings.

Each ATM that is CIT-attended has a spare set of cash cassettes held in the depot ready for replenishment. With each cassette often costing in excess of $100, the total value of inventory deployed across multiple ATMs and multiple depots is considerable, TestLink says. And given that ATM cash cassettes can be difficult to differentiate, leading to confusion, TestLink designed the track-and-trace service.

To protect against migration and ensure that damaged cassettes are identified, recovered, repaired and replaced, TestLink says it is offering a unique way to identity each cassette with a low-overhead process to track a cassette's passage from and back into the CIT depot.

According to a news release, a deployer may wish to have the CIT use TestLink's automatic Cassette Function and Configuration Tester, which ensures that each cassette's operation and set-up is correct, eliminating incorrect cash dispensing. The tester also helps the operator identify the cassette being physically damaged.

Track and Trace provides Web-enabled reports that show frequency of cassette turns, and the number of damaged cassettes, lost cassettes and replacement cassettes.
