T-Mobile takes 'Top Up Friday' to ATMs in U.K.

October 9, 2007

NEWPORT-ON-TAY, Scotland - T-Mobile's "Top Up Friday" promotion is expected to launch a fall campaign through ATM:ad, the United Kingdom's ATM advertising medium.

According to a news release, "Top Up Friday" is geared toward customers who want to keep in contact with friends who are prolific texters or during busy weekends. The service provides unlimited texts all day Saturday and Sunday to pay-as-you-go customers who simply top-up their mobiles on a Friday.

The campaign ran on three Fridays in September and will now appear twice in October and once in November on 850 High Street ATMs, including all through-the-wall Nationwide Building Society branch ATMs. In addition, T-Mobile will run two two-week campaigns from Oct. 22 through Nov. 4, and then again from Dec. 3 through Dec. 16 on ATMs in London Underground stations and in shopping malls nationwide.
