Select-A-Branch garners attention for unique ATM branding, distribution approach

Bank Systems & Technology:Banks can deploy in-store or stand-alone ATMs, and they can choose from an array of ATM options, including basic cash dispense and imaged deposits. Traditionally, a bank's strategy needed to consider maintenance costs, but a new business model offers financial institutions an alternative distribution method that puts a twist on the surcharge-free ATM network. King of Prussia, Pa.-based Select-A-Branch has introduced an ATM service that allows banks and credit unions to expand their ATM networks without purchasing machines or worrying about their upkeep. SAB's ATMs allow several FIs to brand themselves on a single machine. When consumers insert their cards, the ATM recognizes whether they are from participating banks.
