Rent-A-Center, TIO partner for billpay services

April 22, 2008

BURNABY, British Columbia —TIO Networks Corp. and Cash AdvantEdge, the financial-services arm of Rent-A-Center, expect to test TIO's bill-payment products and services in 18 Cash AdvantEdge stores in the United States.

According to a news release, Cash AdvantEdge will allow its customers to use the terminals to pay wireless, utility and cable bills, as well as purchase prepaid products and reload stored-value cards.

The terminals will be deployed in Denver and Memphis.

"We're working to broaden the scope and convenience of the products we offer," said Brent Turner, vice president of financial services for Rent-A-Center, which currently has more than 270 Cash AdvantEdge stores in 15 states. "The TIO kiosk certainly has the potential to draw in additional customers for us, which is why we want to test customer reaction and usage. We are hopeful they will be another step forward in our quest to provide our customers with one-stop access to the financial services they need."
