PrePay Technologies, Link launch prepaid payroll card

LONDON - Paying employees by cash or check could fade into the past as Link Interchange Network Ltd. rolls out its new prepaid payroll card for U.K. businesses.
Link's managed service division, Avantra, and PrePay Technologies, provider of stored-value solutions, are introducing the Enterprise Payroll card in the United Kingdom. According to a news release, the card offers a cost-effective and efficient alternative to cash and checks for employees, and provides convenience and flexibility for employers.
Employees can use the cards to withdraw cash at any ATM with MasterCard Worldwide's Maestro logo. They also can manage their accounts over the Internet or telephone. The card can be used for expense payments or to issue benefits or rewards.
It has been developed by PrePay Technologies and PrePay's existing clients and payroll agencies.
