Paragon white paper touts anti-counterfeit benefits of EMV

Automated e-payment testing solutions provider Paragon Application Systems has announced the publication of a free, downloadable white paper that discusses the anti-counterfeiting advantages of EMV.

According to Paragon, the first and second lines of defense against counterfeit card fraud may be to prevent skimming and recognize transactions that use skimmed data, but a better defense against counterfeit card fraud is migration to EMV.

The company's new white paper, "EMV: Your Best Defense Against Counterfeit Fraud," explains how chip cards that employ the EMV standard provide the best safeguard against card counterfeiting. The publication also offers suggestions for further measures an EMV acquirer or card issuer can take to prevent counterfeit fraud.
