NCR Corp. has announced that Oman Arab Bank has become the first bank in Oman to deploy NFC contactless card-reading technology.
The technology is capable of making ATM transactions more secure and 15% faster than card-enabled transactions, according to an NCR press release.
OAB also will use NCR ATM software to introduce a "favorite transaction" personalization feature that lets customers to tag transactions as favorites, making those transactions faster and easier the next time they are requested by the customer.
"Differentiating through innovative and seamless banking services for our customers remains a key strategy for us," Fahd Bin Amjad, OAB General Manager for Retail Banking, said in the release. "Being the first to introduce NFC technology in the country reiterates our commitment."
OAB recently began using NCR's Activate software to help integrate its self-service channel with the rest of its digital infrastructure, according to the release
