NCR builds ATM ad, promo app; intros services to improve

November 13, 2007

LAS VEGAS - NCR Corp. has announced the latest enrichment to its Aptra Promote campaign-management ATM software platform. Aptra Promote transforms the self-service network into a marketing channel, allowing the channel to deliver advertising, branding and promotions.

According to a release, the new version, Aptra Promote 3.0, adds functionality and usability, as well as new couponing and campaign functions.

With Aptra Promote 3.0, up to eight different coupon campaigns are available for consumers at the ATM, including the choice of "no coupon."  Because coupons are printed from the receipt printer, NCR said FIs can change campaigns at their convenience.

NCR's Aptra Promote application is used by more than 300 customers for self-service-based marketing, advertising and branding campaigns.

"The ability to offer targeted offers to individual customers and non-customers during the wait time of the ATM transaction offers a high-touch revenue opportunity for ATM deployers," said Brian Bailey, NCR's vice president of marketing and deployment for financial solutions.

NCR intros new services to improve ATM management, customer interactions

NCR's Managed Services portfolio for monitoring and management now includes transaction, cash and cash-in-transit monitoring.

According to NCR, the transaction-monitoring component constantly monitors the number of transactions, reversals or denials at an ATM and compares that information to agreed hourly thresholds. The frequent monitoring against expected norms provides near-immediate awareness to any unusual or unexpected activity.

Additionally, the detailed view of reversals and denials provides data to quickly pinpoint fraudulent activities, NCR says.

The cash-monitoring component, which proactively monitors cash levels in the ATM network, offers two cash thresholds for each ATM, allowing greater accuracy in identifying potential "cash-out" scenarios. In turn, availability is increased because of reduced cash outs.

The CIT component provides real-time tracking of CIT-replenishment activity, providing an accurate record of whether the replenishments occurred, and if it occurred on time and within the agreed time period.
