N.C. credit union joins Allpoint ATM network

September 3, 2007

BETHESDA, Md. - Coastal Federal Credit Union, the second-largest credit union in North Carolina ($1.7 billion in assets), has joined Allpoint Network to expand its ATM network.

According to a news release, Coastal will add more than 560 surcharge-free ATMs in North Carolina and 32,000 nationwide.

"With Allpoint and Coastal's existing surcharge-free access, Coastal truly provides its members unparalleled surcharge-free access," said Ben Psillas, Allpoint's president.

Other benefits:
  • Member FI ATMs do not participate
  • Card reissuance or processor conversion is not required
  • Card-based pricing provides cost-effective and predictable cost structure
Allpoint complements any card-issuer's current membership in other surcharge-free networks.

"The addition of the Allpoint network to our existing array of surcharge–free ATMs gives our members access to more surcharge-free ATMs than any other financial institution in North Carolina," said Larry Wilson, Coastal's president and chief executive. "It's simply a great way for us to provide a valuable service for our members in a manner that's convenient to them."
