KAL clocks fastest-ever ATM transaction times in German tests

In tests on machines from three major ATM makers, KAL achieved the fastest times ever recorded — beating even the manufacturers' own transaction times.

KAL ATM Software reports that it has broken the German ATM speed record for the fastest customer transaction times in official testing at the Cetecom ATM test track in Germany.

According to a company news release, KAL software underwent independent testing in August on ATMs from Nautilus Hyosung, NCR Corp. and Wincor Nixdorf.

Testing was conducted on a total of six models and on each, KAL software clocked the fastest times recorded to that date (Aug. 4) on the Deutsche Kreditwirtshaft circuit — Germany's national standard for ATM certification.

For NCR and Wincor models KAL beat the previous speed record by 10.5 seconds on average for EMV transactions (a 35 percent improvement), and 10.6 seconds for magnetic stripe transactions (a 46 percent improvement).

On a Hyosung model KAL beat the current record by 16 percent for EMV and 2 percent for mag stripe.

In each case, KAL software beat even the manufacturer's software running on its own hardware: EMV transaction times on NCR models were beaten by 30 percent and 35 percent; on Wincor models, times were bested by 29–45 percent, depending on the model.

Steve Hensley, KAL executive vice president of global sales, commented on the results:

KAL ATM software is the fastest on the market and improves the customer transaction time significantly, reducing queue lengths and making bank's customers very happy.

Along with ATM availability, transaction time is one of the most important measurements of ATM software performance for banks. We are thrilled that this has been officially proven in independent testing.

DK testing is mandatory for all ATM suppliers to the German market. Transaction timings achieved by vendors are published on the DK website as part of the certification process.
