Business World: Payzone, an ATM-payments processor based in Dublin, Ireland, has posted losses of €167 million (U.S. $260 million) for the first half of 2008, the result, the company says, of a "difficult" trading period.Payzone has had difficulties since its creation in December — the reult of the merger of Cardpoint and Alphyra. Payzone processes more than 630 million transactions per year and has a coverage area of more than 170,000 retail locations in 21 countries across Europe.
