Indiana to receive unemployment debit cards

Business Week: Indiana plans to launch a customer service call center to help unemployment insurance recipients learn how to use insurance-benefits Visa debit cards. The state will begin issuing the cards instead of unemployment checks by the end of the year. Indiana is estimating a $1.8 million annual savings from the new distribution method.
