First Data goes to Scotland

GLASGOW, Scotland - First Data International announced in November plans to open its first facility in Glasgow, Scotland's International Financial Services District. Scotland's financial-services sector is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the Scottish economy. It's grown 36.5 percent over the past five years, almost four times faster than the overall Scottish economy and twice as fast as the overall U.K. financial-services industry.
According to a news release, the new First Data contact center is expected to create more than 430 jobs over the next five years. First Data offers a portfolio of payment services, including electronic processing, ATM and POS management, switching and authorization, fraud and risk management, customer management, contact center services, card personalization, and print services.
