Filipino banks explore ways to cut ATM fees

(Philippines) Balita: Banking regulators in the Philippines are looking for ways to spur surcharge-free ATM networks that would provide more than 18 million users with a practical alternative to fee-based systems. Citing the United States' surcharge-free Allpoint ATM network as an example, one industry observer says surcharge-free transactions are "absolutely" possible.
