Fed's Tara Rice talks 'evolving payments' at WAUSAU conference

MOSINEE, Wis. — Wausau Financial Systems will present Tara Rice, financial economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as its 2008 keynote speaker during its April customer conference.
Rice is expected to discuss payment trends by examining the innovations, incentives and regulations driving those trends. The conference is slated for April 14-17 at the Midwest Airlines Center in Milwaukee.
"The Evolving Payment System keynote session will offer attendees a comprehensive understanding of the forces driving change in the payments industry," said Doug Deardorf, WAUSAU's vice president of marketing.
Rice currently researches financial-institution strategy and performance, focusing on payment activities. Before joining the research department, Rice was an economist in the Supervision and Regulation Department at the Chicago Fed.
Rice has lectured at Boston College and Johns Hopkins University and is currently an adjunct member at DePaul University. She also worked at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington, D.C.
Rice holds a Ph.D. in finance from Boston College.
