Euronet subsidiary signs prepaid deal with German gas station operator

LEAWOOD, Kan. — Euronet Worldwide Inc.'s prepaid subsidiary, Transact, has signed a deal with Aral AG, Germany's largest operator of petrol stations.
Aral is a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche BP AG, the German subsidiary of BP PLC.
According to a news release, Transact will provide an electronic top-up solution for prepaid-mobile airtime, as well as other predetermined prepaid products at Aral stations in Germany.
Transact expects to be fully operational at approximately 1,450 Aral company-owned petrol stations by the end of the second quarter of 2008.
"At Aral, we aim to provide everything our customers would need when they are on the road, in addition to fuel and lubricants," said Nicola Butterwegge, Aral head of CM Non Food. "Our partnership with Transact enables us to provide a wide-range of popular prepaid communication and entertainment products to our customers through Transact's convenient and secure e-top-up system, whenever and wherever they might be traveling in Germany."
Aral is a fuel-brand marketer in Germany, with a network of 2,400 petrol stations in Germany.
