Diebold launches new software platform

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Diebold Inc. has announced the launch of Agilis EmPower, a new software platform the company says is flexible and open to deliver enhanced services to customers. The platform includes technology in Diebold's Agilis Solutions family.
 
According to a news release, Diebold's European customers will be the first to test the new platform at a conference in Milan, Italy.  
 
Built on open-standard XML architecture, Agilis EmPower enables financial institutions to interchange customer information through all channels, while integrating into an FI's service-oriented architecture. 
 
"As competition increases in retail banking, many financial institutions are seeking to capture greater customer wallet share, and they're turning to Diebold to better serve their customers' desires," said Chuck Ducey, Diebold's senior vice president, global development and services.
 
Singapore's DBS is using the platform to improve ATM features and functionalities.
 
"With the largest ATM network in Singapore, we are committed to bringing out the best of Asian values in new and innovative ways for our customers," said Rachel Yap, managing director, DBS's consumer banking-network operations. "This means enhancing our customers' experience at the ATMs."
