Diebold expected to unveil new software platform in Italy
May 16, 2007
NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Diebold Inc. says it plans to announce a new ATM software platform and business model during its Customer Conference & Expo in Milan, Italy, which runs May 22-23.
Diebold says the new model revolves around "an innovative" Agilis platform that integrates flexible, open software development tools and services to enable connectivity between people, technology and delivery channels at financial institutions.
The demand for increased functionality and personalized banking channels is creating extreme pressure and competition among FIs, Diebold says, to meet customer needs. As a result, FIs are seeking more consultation about applications from software and service providers.
To meet the demand, Diebold is aligning its software capabilities and building its organization, said Charles Ducey, Diebold's senior vice president of global development and services.
"We want to revolutionize the way financial institutions transact business and connect with consumers," Ducey said. "Our renewed focus on software, services and integration development will allow us to build on our strength and reputation of delivering the latest technology to help customers more easily and efficiently connect with and serve consumers."
