Christmas comes early for Houston ATM users

Bankcard holders who used a Bank of America ATM in the Houston area will get to keep the extra money accidentally dispensed to them by the machine, according to a report by the Houston Chronicle.

The Charlotte, North Carolina based institution received word on Sunday evening that its ATM was dispensing $100 notes instead of $10 due to a mistake by the cash-in-transit company that loaded the cash cassettes.

Bank of America declined to say how much money was mistakenly dispensed or how long it took to discover the mixup, according to the report.
