Chinese ATM cards may soon be used in Taiwan

REUTERS: Taiwan and China are in talks to let mainland tourists use their China Unionpay ATM cards as debit cards in Taiwan, say sources close to the potential deal. If successful, the move could eventually make China's currency, the renminbi or yuan, officially accepted in Taiwan on a widespread basis for the first time since the Communists defeated the Nationalists in the Chinese civil war, which ended in 1949.
