July 10, 2007
LAS VEGAS- Cheq Information Technology Inc., in conjunction with BUIC Systems A.G., says the Cheq-IT Vermezzo is expected to go into production in September.
"We have been able to add features to the final version that were not contemplated when the initial development phase started many months ago," said John V. Ashley, CIT's chief executive.
The new version includes an optional auto-feeder with an input/output tray capacity of 50 pages for paper, coupons and checks (with the ability to read the check's MICR). Both front and rear image capture also are performed concurrently.
The device includes the ability to capture a driver's license and other forms of rigid documents, such as envelopes, if they are manually inputted. It also has the ability to read mag-stripes from I.D. cards and credit cards.
According to a news release, a software kit is available for conversion of the Cheq-IT XPress System to the Vermezzo.
