Better ATM, ANI ink prepaid-card deal for ATMs

MESA, Ariz. - Better ATM Services, which enables ATMs to dispense prepaid gift cards, has signed a deal with ANI Advanced Network Inc. of San Diego to enable ANI ATM clients to dispense gift cards.

According to a news release, Better ATM Services allows ATMs to dispense cards using existing equipment. No add-on devices are required. This means that the new technology enables existing ATMs to dispense prepaid cards to their customers through existing cash trays. "Better ATM Services' technology provides an important new dimension in expanding the ATM delivery channel beyond traditional cash dispensing," said ANI's chief executive, Bob Plunkett. "A crucial benefit is the ability to add feature and functionality to the existing investment. Our clients are going to profit enormously from the opportunity it creates for additional income for the ATM owner, which is paramount in these times when financial institutions are looking for ways to grow profitability, expand existing client relations, and grow their client base."
