B of A says new ATM functions bring more deposits

The Portland (Ore.) Business Journal: An uptick in deposits made at ATMs has persuaded Bank of America Corp. to convert its entire ATM network to a technology it introduced two years ago.Bank of America began deploying image-scanning, envelope-free ATMs in early 2006. Since the rollout, the number of deposits made at B of A ATMs has increased 50 percent.That's a boon to the bank's bottom line, according to a recent analysis by financial-industry-research firm, TowerGroup.
