Why PCI DSS 4.0.1 Sets a Higher Bar

Not all PCI attestations are equal. PCI DSS 4.0.1 is the current version of the standard. The 4.0 release builds on introduced controls that version 3.2.1 did not require, and as of March 31, 2025 those requirements are mandatory for every assessment.
