Visa announced the commercial deployment of its Visa Direct stablecoin capabilities, moving from pilot programs to real-world commercial operations. The milestone brings stablecoin-enabled money movement into daily business processes to improve cross-border liquidity and global funding efficiency, according to a press release.
Inyo Global, a payments infrastructure provider, is the first enabler to bring Visa Direct's stablecoin prefunding to market. By integrating USDC prefunding into its existing API platform, Inyo allows eligible clients to prefund cross-border payouts in near real time, bypassing traditional banking funding windows.
Key highlights include 24/7 liquidity, access to more than 180 countries and integration across multiple layers of onboarding, compliance and fraud.
"The next chapter for stablecoins is adoption," Vira Platonova, global head of Visa Direct, said in the release. "We're now seeing those efforts translate into live implementations, helping businesses access more flexible and efficient ways to fund and move money globally through Visa Direct."
