Triton launches new company focused on ATM parts, repair, training
The retail ATM manufacturer says it's filling a multivendor need for retail ATM distributors.

Triton Systems of Delaware Inc., a top U.S. supplier of retail ATMs, is spinning off its operations in Memphis, Tenn., to create a new company that will specialize in multivendor ATM parts, repair and training services.
"We're up and running today," said Triton spokeswoman Alicia Blanda, "but we're staggering some things. Right now, the Web siteis live, we are doing multibrand (ATM repair) and you can book a multibrand training class; but it will be Oct. 1 before we can sell multibrand parts."
ATMGurus, which will operate as a separate corporate entity, specializes in providing parts, repair and training for multibrand ATMs, including Triton, Tranax, Nautilus Hyosung and other models. The company currently employs about 50 people, with plans to add more in the near future.
"We recognize that most customers operate estates with ATMs from a variety of manufacturers, which poses a challenge," said Daryl Cornell, Triton's general manager. "ATMGurus was created to fill a marketplace need ― one-stop shopping for parts, repair and training of all retail ATM brands."
Dan Swain, who has been named general manager at ATMGurus, says the decision to service Nautilus Hyosung machines was made independently by Triton and in no way is related to collapse of the acquisition deal between Triton and Nautilus Hyosung.
"This is completely an independent decision," Swain said. "It's part of the brand-agnostic and rebranding strategy.This is a way to expand the business a little bit. Our focus right now is on the key players in the retail space. Tidel is the other wildcard, but right now our focus is the two other major players in the space, Hyosung and Tranax."
New and refurbished parts come with a 180-day warranty, and closeout parts, a new offering, come with a 30-day exchange warranty. The company says it also has 10 dedicated bench repair technicians who are trained on a variety of ATM makes and models.
"ATMGurus offers customers competitive pricing and rapid turnaround of multi-brand repairs ― all in one convenient location," Triton said in a news release. "Repair services for Triton, Tranax and Nautilus Hyosung are available now, with additional capabilities coming soon." Multibrand training
Through ATMGurus training services, called Guru University, ATM operators can coordinate ATM technician training on all major retail ATMs. Classes feature hands-on troubleshooting, online simulators and preparation for field-service scenarios.
ATMGurus also expects to sell refurbished ATMs, as well as ATM supplies such as paper, decals and screen wipes. Refurbished Triton ATMs come with a 13-month warranty, following repair and updating by Guru-certified technicians.
Account numbers and online Triton eStore login information will remain the same for all current Triton customers, Triton says.
