Wincor to assure ATM availability for Santander subsidiary

The company will provide 24/7 monitoring and maintenance for 5,200 machines that make up the bank's ATM network in Mexico.

January 14, 2016

Wincor Nixdorf AG and the Banco Santander subsidiary in Mexico have entered into a three-year agreement under which Wincor will provide services for the bank's ATM network, according to a company press release.

Wincor Nixdorf will provide round-the-clock remote monitoring, as well as first- and second-line maintenance of the FI's 5,200 ATMs, both on- and off-premises.

Wincor Nixdorf has been a partner with Banco Santander in Mexico since 2005. The company today is the bank's No. 1 provider of ATMs and maintenance services, the release said.

"We are convinced that we have found a highly skilled IT partner in Wincor Nixdorf, one that can help us achieve higher system availability for our ATMs," said Rodolfo Moreno, operations director of Banco Santander in Mexico.

Also this year, the partners say they will launch a joint pilot project for cash recycling systems, prompted by the demand among small and medium-size enterprises for cash deposits.
