Wincor sells 120 ATMs to Kenyan ATM network

October 10, 2005

PADERBORN, Germany - PesaPoint, the first independent Kenyan ATM operator, has ordered 120 ProCash 1500xe ATMs from Wincor Nixdorf, according to a news release.

The rollout, said to be the biggest of its kind, is expected to be complete by the end of November 2005. The country-wide system rollout is being undertaken by Electronic Financial Transactions Kenya Ltd. (EFT), a local Wincor Nixdorf partner.

"PesaPoint offers a large part of the Kenyan national population the ability to withdraw their cash," said Bernard Matthewman, PesaPoint's managing director.

Kenyan banks that do not have their own ATM networks are expected to have the ability to offer their customers self-service transactions through the PesaPoint network.
