Wincor Nixdorf Portavis, HSH Nordbank sign outsourcing agreement

PADERBORN, Germany - Wincor Nixdorf Portavis GmbH, an outsourcing services provider, on Dec. 12 announced an agreement with HSH Nordbank AG to run more than 5,000 of its PC work stations, telecommunications systems, servers and databases. As part of the deal, Wincor Nixdorf Portavis is absorbing the bank;35 HSH Nordbank employees have been transferred to Wincor Nixdorf Portavis.
The agreement took effect Dec. 1.
According to a news release, Wincor Nixdorf Portavis was established with savings banks Hamburger Sparkasse and Sparkasse Bremen; Wincor Nixdorf International holds a majority interest.
HSH Nordbank is the first Landesbank in Germany to outsource its IT operations to Wincor Nixdorf Portavis. The agreement will allow the joint-venture company to internationalize its own business, gradually taking over the operation of IT systems at HSH Nordbank's international locations, in addition to the bank's offices in Germany.
