Wells Fargo intros mobile banking

(St. Paul, Minn.) Pioneer Press: Wells Fargo and other big U.S. banks are expected to begin allowing their customers to check account balances, pay bills and transfer funds using their cell phones in 2007. It's the next phase in electronic banking, which began about 10 years ago when banks started to allow customers to view their accounts and transfer money online. Wells Fargo, which holds the biggest market share of bank deposits in Minnesota, is testing some form of cell phone banking with its employees.One bank technology analyst said he expects Wells Fargo to unveil its mobile strategy sometime this year.
