January 3, 2014

As of Jan. 1, Warsaw, N.Y.-based Five Star Bank offers customers fee-free access to nearly 600 ATMs at Rite Aid pharmacies across the state through an agreement with Welch ATM. The deal represents almost a tenfold increase in no-charge ATMs for the FI.

Five Star currently owns 60 ATMs in its service area. The deal with Welch will add 589 locations in total, including 55 bank-branded ATMs.

"We're constantly searching for additional ways to bring more convenience and access to our customers," said Chuck Guarino, senior vice president and director of marketing for Five Star. "Our Rite Aid agreement delivers a service charge-free experience across the whole of New York State — from Buffalo to Albany, Manhattan to Plattsburgh, and all points in between."

Five Star Bank holds $2.8 billion in assets and operates 50 offices across Western and Central New York State.
